My Artistic Journey
I break down my artistic journey and how you can embark on your own journey, artistic or otherwise.

My earliest drawing that I can remember, is a drawing of my cousin walking our dog. From crayons to pencils (including Apple), I have loved to draw and be creative. I always seemed to have this talent for art. So much so that between my family and friends, that's all I was known for, the guy that draws.
I began to study with a private, retired art teacher and continued to teach myself. I learned a lot during this time. Eventually, I got tired of being the "drawing guy". I quit drawing and pursued playing the guitar (still a favorite hobby!). Eventually, as I began reading comic books more and more, I wanted to draw again. I began practicing again, using the tools and practice techniques I learned from guitar and applied them to my drawing practice.
It was during this time of getting back into drawing, that I had the most life changing experience along this journey, I got married to my beautiful wife and I became a father. My life as a husband and father became my source of inspiration to create Lman and ignited the passion that I now have for drawing, childhood imagination, and parenthood. As I embarked on creating the comic series, I realized that there was so much more to creating comic books than drawing!
What about you?
Have you been on a journey? One you gave up on and are trying to get back into? If so, I encourage you, if something brings you true joy and passion, you owe it to yourself to pursue it, even if it is just a hobby, like my guitar playing.
As of right now, my comic is a hobby, but one that I truly love and enjoy putting out into the world. I would love to see what you put out in the world, because no one else can do it like you!
Respectfully,
Josh
